JH Baxter

Quality Assurance

commitment to sound practices

J.H. Baxter & Co. operates its own Quality Assurance Laboratory adjacent to the Eugene treating facility. The laboratory employs a chemist and lab technician to provide independent analytical services to the Eugene plant. After treating, units of material from each treating charge are checked for penetration and retention. Industry standards or customer specifications are used as the minimum basis for acceptance.

Baxter’s personalized customer service provides added benefit and avoids shipping delays. With an on-site QC Lab, treating result confirmation is usually made the same day. Baxter maintains high quality control standards that meet or exceed the American Wood Protection Association (AWPA). In addition, independent inspection agencies frequent our facilities to provide a third party overview of our quality control samples, equipment and product treating standards.

The lab technicians perform elemental analyses using a Twin-X x-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectrometer as well as other physical and chemical testing of our products as part of its quality control procedures.

We are dedicated to making continual improvements in our operations using the principles of statistical process control and lean manufacturing.
