Pete Uccelli
"There is a lot of J. H. Baxter wood in my life.  We have been working with Baxter for over 35 years.  And we've had nothing but positive support and assistance from them the whole time."

We're a natural in the water.

From the piers of Pearl Harbor to your local boat dock, wood has proven itself to be both the most attractive and most durable building material for structures in and around water.   Because the J. H. Baxter heritage began with schooners transporting wood from the Pacific Northwest to Pacific ports of call (domestic and international), we have a special ability - and a special interest - in supporting our customers in marine environments.

Preservatives for every marine application

Properly treated wood is resilient and resistant to rot, decay, and marine-borer attack.  In coastal waters where marine-boring organisms like teredo, pholad, and Limnoria tripunctata are present, there's an important need to protect below-water pilings and timbers.  That's why J. H. Baxter offers you a complete line of preservatives - from ACZA to Creosote - to provide the best possible protection of above-water and below-water structures.

Protection of the quality of the water and diversity of the various life forms found in the lakes, streams, estuaries, bays and wetlands of North America is a goal and responsibility shared by every citizen.

We are committed to assuring our products are manufactured and installed in a manner which minimizes any potential for adverse impacts to these important environments.  To achieve this objective our industry has developed and encourages the use of BEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICES or BMPs.  For More information about BMPs please got to the Western Wood Preservers Institute website.

San Francisco's 3rd St. bridge
"We worked with J. H. Baxter on the fender repair for our Third Street Bridge project on the San Francisco waterfront.  We received excellent response from their sales/service department, and were very pleased with the quality and on-time delivery of our treated pilings."
